International movers help families become one step closer to their dream home!

Mar 31. 2010

International movers, Burke Bros Moving Group  www.burkebros.co.uk, based in the West Midlands, certainly enjoyed doing their bit towards helping recent visitors to Channel 4’s, A Place in the Sun Live exhibition at the NEC Birmingham, make their dreams of owning a property abroad one step closer to reality.

Chris Burke, Burke Bros Moving Group’s Director, commented saying, “Along with the other 350 exhibitors, from 57 countries, we were delighted to be part of such a well organised and well attended exhibition. It turned out to be a strong and colourful visitor experience with a widespread appeal for all who come along to the show. The feature areas, seminar programmes, guest speakers and main stage entertainment delivered an exciting and dynamic show for the benefit of all of the exhibitors and visitors, alike.”

Ever bigger and better, during 28th to 30th September 2007, A Place in the Sun Live featured thousands of properties, across 40 different countries. The free seminars offered expert independent advice on all aspects of buying abroad, with celebrity guests revealing their top tips for buying overseas, and to top it all off there was some great live entertainment everyday.

Mandy Dawson, European Sales Supervisor for Burke Bros, said “It was great fun seeing all the famous faces from off the TV. I saw Amanda Lamb from Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, along with her other co-presenters, Victoria Hollingsworth, Jasmine Harman, and Jonnie Irwin. There was even an amazing Elvis Presley look-a-like roaming around, who definitely made you look twice.”

Chris Starkey, Head of the Burke Bros International Department, said “We also saw property expert Phil Spencer, from Location, Location, Location who was answering loads of questions about buying property, along with Andrew Winter, the presenter of Selling Houses.”

Ben Hingley, Burke Bros’s Corporate Sales Manager, said “There were two brand new areas at the show which were excellent. There was The Emigration Show, which was dedicated to helping people looking for a permanent life abroad, plus The French Pavilion, which offered unique character properties from all over France, with an authentic French market.”

The main aim of the official exhibition of the Channel 4 TV programme, A Place in the Sun, is to help people find their dream place, whether that means a great investment, an idyllic holiday home, a retirement property, or a permanent home abroad.

The Burke Bros exhibition stand was jam-packed with visitors hungry to ask the team all their overseas removals questions and how, using the experienced moving team of Burke Bros’s, they could enjoy a painless and stress-free physical move to their new dream home in the sun.

Early indications from the show organisers suggested that the total attendance figures where something in the order of 16,500 visitors.

Ken Pritchard, Group Events Director from the show said “In the current conservative property climate, along with the recently troubled Northern Rock Building Society and the American credit crunch still fresh in consumers’ minds, we were still really pleased with the strong attendance figures.”

Chris Burke, also went on to say, “I was really pleased with all the hard work, enthusiasm, and contributions made by all the Burke Bros staff who ran the stand, especially during the weekend. As a business, we were also very happy with the number of people who were interested in using our International moving services. I’m hopeful we’ll be having the pleasure of moving them all abroad over the coming weeks and months.”

Burke Bros staff were telling visitors about their newly upgraded website www.burkebros.co.uk which was re-launched in June 2007, along with letting them know about the website’s special offers of a ‘Free Pre-Move Survey’ and their new money saving ‘Movers Exchange Scheme’.
