Mar 31. 2010

International moving specialist, Burke Bros Moving Group www.burkebros.co.uk based in the West Midlands, UK, recently spent three days at the Worldwide ERC® Global Workforce Summit® in Denver, USA, rubbing shoulders with some of the highest profile professional HR executives, who represent some of the biggest blue chip companies, in the world.

The 2007 Global Workforce Summit® www.erc.org which took place between 24th & 26th October, is a networking, learning, benchmarking and idea exchange event that attracts leading HR innovators, strategists and professionals in the workforce mobility industry. It is designed to ensure a high level of interaction and engagement. The Summit programs included thought-provoking educational sessions that address today’s workforce challenges and solutions, as well as small-group discussions and roundtables that create unique opportunities for in-depth exploration of topics. The Summit also features an exhibition area highlighting leading service providers in workforce mobility.

As a leading removal services provider in their field, Burke Bros Moving Group have consistently developed their own experience and expertise in the International movers arena, and are highly-qualified to work with these big blue-chips names, to play their part in helping them create a painless and stress-free removals experience for the relocation of their staff.

When it comes to the size of the market, ERC stated that the figures for U.S. domestic employer assisted job-related relocations is approximately 450,000 per year, whilst the estimates for international employer relocations are about 394,000. Most companies indicate that domestic relocation has remained somewhat static for several years now, however, the real growth area is in the international arena.

Burke Bros Director, Chris Burke, said “The service support needed by these blue-chip companies, in moving their workforces abroad, sometimes moving 100’s of people at the same time, from one country to the next, is an incredibly complex operation.”

Worldwide ERC® www.erc.org is the association for professionals who oversee, manage, or support U.S. domestic and international employee transfer in the relocation marketplace. They were founded in 1964 to help their members overcome the challenges of workforce mobility. Their members come from many professions – HR; recruiting, government; military; real estate; financial services; counselling; consulting; and many more, especially in Burke Bros’s case, domestic and International moving services.

Burke Bros are continually raising their standards of service and wanted to demonstrate their industry credentials and expertise to the event visitors, as well as showing how well established and professional they are, to their U.S. industry counterparts.

Gary Burke, Burke Bros Moving Group’s Managing Director, said, “We believe we are well qualified to offer first class quality services in this buoyant International marketplace, especially with the well formed International network of specialist we’ve already worked hard to establish. Attending an event such as the Worldwide ERC exhibition in Denver, demonstrated to us that this work has great meaning for the mobility of company workforces and especially strengthening the job of the world’s major employers.”

Chris Starkey, Head of the Burke Bros International Department, said “We wanted to learn more about the steps needed to strengthen our understanding of transferees, service providers and large employers… and expand our network of colleagues and business associates.”
