It’s Blue Skies for the Aberdovey Charity Bike Ride

Well done to all those that have entered the Wolverhampton to Aberdovey charity bike ride!

A brilliantly organised event and we were pleased to see the day go so seamlessly.

Each stop along the way was great and well catered. The feeling of support all through the day from the crew and other riders helped to keep morale high. The support crew were on hand to deal with any incidents on route, supported the riders all the way through and even handed the medals out to each of the riders at the end.

The ride culminated in an inspirational reception in Aberdovey complete with cow bells!

A number of businesses and organisations were involved in the event; from Brindley Volvo who loaned the V60 Cross Country as for use as the commissar’s car for the week, Aberdovey Yacth Club, Midland Bike Marshals, Blood Bikes, Enterprise Vehicle Rental, Datatag, Fishface Cycles, RNLI, Pilgrim Bandits and Jasper’s Bakery.

We’re so pleased to have been able to be the official logistics provider for the event; supplying both storage and transport solutions for more than 700 riders and West Midlands Police G division.

Our vehicles transfered luggage and belongings to Aberdovey and then returned hundreds of bikes back to the Midlands. The bikes have been safely stored and re-distributed from our bonded stores, with the final bike being collected today.

Last year, the fundraising event raised £184,130 to support a number of charities. Over £100,000 has been raised so far from this year’s event, in aid of various local charities and that figure is still increasing. Our own MD entered the event in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and has raised over £450, completing the ride in seven hours.
