Advanced Tachograph and Vehicle Compliance
We have significantly upgraded our tachograph and vehicle compliance systems. Here’s how:
1. Daily digital tachograph downloads
The new tachograph compliance system downloads the digital tachograph card on each daily insert, sending the information via the cloud for real time monitoring and analysation- removing the need for human intervention. An app-based system allows drivers to see live data in real time. The frequent downloads allow for immediate identification and rectification of any discrepancies, promoting safer driving practices.
2. Weekly vehicle unit (VU) downloads
In addition to daily card downloads, the system downloads each vehicle’s tachograph unit every seven days for analysis without the need for human intervention. This practice is implemented across our entire fleet, including vehicles operating throughout Europe.
3. Real-time vehicle checks
We have introduced a cutting-edge app-based system that allows vehicle checks and vehicle defects in real time. This innovation enables our maintenance team to quickly identify and prioritise repairs, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently, whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of vehicle compliance.
Introduction of vehicle tracking system
We have also introduced an advanced vehicle tracking system. This system provides daily reports, to enable us to closely monitor driver behaviour whilst promoting safer driving practices. The system sends a daily speed awareness report, ensuring highway code regulations are adhered to, whilst allowing us to coach and educate employees.
App-based vehicle systems
As of 1 July, we have implemented an app-based tachograph and vehicle checking system. This modern solution offers the benefit of instant reporting and documentation. Any defects or issues identified during inspections are relayed through this immediate reporting mechanism, enabling faster communication between drivers and the maintenance team.
