Apr 12. 2024

London boasts a diverse range of neighbourhoods, each with their own unique character. Famed for it’s bustling urban lifestyle, the city also has more peaceful suburban areas, so no matter whether you are a professional making the move for work purposes or a family looking for a more child-friendly environment- London has a lot to offer. Here we’ll take a look at some of the most popular neighbourhoods in London and what to consider when it comes to arranging the removal of your household effects and possessions.

Notting Hill: based in West London, Notting Hill is one of the more iconic areas of London and often featured in films and TV with it’s houses with colourful facades and of course the famous Portobello Road market.

Wimbledon: located in Southwest London, Wimbledon is a peaceful suburb of London that benefits from outstanding schools, appealing parks and very good transport links.

Islington: known for its cosmopolitan neighbourhood and varied cultural scene, this suburb in North London has a wide-ranging appeal for professionals making the move as well as families looking to relocate.

Putney: moving further out of Central London, Putney is located along the banks of the River Thames in South West London and is home to Richmond Park (which is known to be approx. three times the size of Central Park in New York.) Homes here are mainly on quiet residential streets and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Greenwich: one of the picturesque neighbourhoods in South East London, Greenwich is famously home to the Royal Observatory, Greenwich Park and also benefits from good transportation links to central London via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and the Thames Clippers River bus services.

Whichever part of the capital you’re moving to, it’s important to use the services of a professional removal company to ensure the smooth relocation to the city. Ensure that you look for companies that are experienced and certainly members of the British Association of Removers. If you’re relocating from overseas to the capital, also look out for companies that are members of FIDI (the global alliance of quality-certified international moving and relocation companies) and IAM (International Association of Movers.)
