Putting the Wheels in Motion; Gary Burke Appointed to Chairman of Wolverhampton Wheeler’s Cycling Club

We’re delighted to announce that Managing Director of Burke Bros Moving Group, Gary Burke, has been appointed Chairman of Wolverhampton Wheeler’s Cycling Club to steer the club to continued success!

Founded in 1891 the Wolverhampton Wheelers Cycling Club is the oldest in the City of Wolverhampton and surrounding area, and one of the pioneering clubs in the birth of cycle sport nationwide. Speaking about the appointment, Gary commented: “as a keen cyclist myself, I’m looking forward to supporting the club in going form strength to strength. The club is well known for its superb work in the area of youth development and in the development of cycling within Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas and we will continue to flourish in these areas and build on these foundations.”

Burke Bros Moving Group are no strangers to supporting the cycling community in the local area. Most recently, Burke Bros were logistics provider for the Wolverhampton to Aberdovey bike ride; supplying both storage and transport solutions for the 700 plus riders and West Midlands Police G division involved in the event which has raised almost £200,000 this year, and £1m over the last few years, to support a number of local charities.

Gary holds another voluntary position as trustee and non-executive director of local hospice; Compton Care.
