Reasons to move to Stourbridge
Are you thinking about moving home to Stourbridge? There are many reasons too! This historic town based upon the River Stour – upon which it takes its name – has a reputation for making some of the finest glass in the world.
It has excellent transportation links, being close to two major cities and other towns as well as the countryside. It has its own large modern bus depot and train station, with various routes around the midlands area. Stourbridge is commutable to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley and other areas making it a favourite location with those who need to travel to work but still want to live in a smaller town or in a more rural area.
For those moving with families and children to the local area Stourbridge also has some excellent schools, including over 20 primary schools in the local area with Greenfield Primary, Oldswinford C of E and Pedmore C of E being considered some of the best. There are also some good quality secondary schools in the area with Oldswinford Hospital and Haybridge High School both having “Outstanding” reports. Other schools in the local area include, Edgecliff High School, The Wordsley School and Pedmore Technology College.
There are a reasonable amount of shops in the town and other larger shopping malls nearby such as the Intu shopping centre in Brierley Hill. Stourbridge also has its own bars and restaurants and many facilities for sport including the Crystal Leisure Centre, which has a pool, squash courts, tennis courts, rock climbing facilities and more, there is also a recently opened trampoline centre and a skateboarding park and roller skating rink.
