Potential strike action has been announced at two UK ports; Port of Felixstowe and Port of Liverpool
Port of Felixstowe has stated that trade unions have been unable to reach an agreement with Hutchison Ports regarding the rejection of a revised pay offer. Unless a resolution is found, strike action is proposed to take place between 21-29 August.
The Port of Felixstowe website has an operational update outlining the current status of dealings between Hutchinson Ports and Union Unite.
After a ballot of union members took place, employees of the Unite Union voted in favour of strike action at the Port of Liverpool. Peel Ports has announced that the dates of the strike have not been specified, but it has been stated that strike action won’t be taking place at the Port prior to the third week of September.
Any customers who will be impacted by these developments at the ports will be contacted and updated by our team. Our moving experts can also be contacted here.
