It may be ‘Random Acts of Kindness Day’ but we’d like to add a little kindness into house moving on any day!
Burke Bros are pleased to support ‘The Good Shepherd Ministry’ to help tackle food poverty amongst some of the most vulnerable people in Wolverhampton.
If you’ve booked a house move with us, as part of our removal and storage services, and have non-perishable food (food in tins or in packets) that you don’t want to take with you, inform our surveyors or removal crew and we’ll collect on moving day and donate to the Good Shepherd Ministry to help them tackle food poverty in Wolverhampton.
Whether customers are moving abroad and are unable to ship food items or just want to clear the kitchen cupboards before household contents come into our storage facilities for example, Burke Bros will gladly deposit the items to the charity.
Since the charity began in 2003 The Good Shepherd work to meet the basic needs of their service users through the provision of hot meals, food parcels for families. Alongside this, they also run an advice and guidance drop in and work with a wide range of agencies to enable service users to access other support and be signposted and referred to partner agencies across the city. Intensive support is offered for people with multiple disadvantages who’ve experienced rough sleeping to help them move into a home of their own, develop their essential skills and engage in meaningful activity.
If you have booked a move with us and would like to donate food on moving day or if you’re planning a move and would like to book a house moving survey with our surveyors, our friendly assists are on hand on 01902 714555 or via email email@example.com.
