International Moving Company Help Re-Unite Old British Friends When Moving to Cyprus! Burke Bros Moving Group are getting used to moving people to Cyprus, but a delightful story happened in July 2006 when they moved John & Kate Smallman from their Wheaton Aston home near Wolverhampton, in the UK, to their wonderful new Greek Cypriot home.
Burke Bros, based in Wolverhampton UK regularly move household belongings to Cyprus, helping people make their dream of a new life come true, in as painless and stress-free way as possible.
Chris Starkey, Head of the Burke Bros International Department, said: “Apart from France and Spain, we currently move more people to Cyprus than any other of our European destinations. Cyprus is now a highly sort after destination for Brits emigrating abroad.”
John and Kate Smallman, now enjoying their new life in their 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom bungalow, with a pool in the back garden, were first introduced to their new home by John & Janet, who’d previously lived opposite them for nearly 28 years in the small Wheaton Aston Village. When John and Kate moved to Cyprus they ended up, yet again, living exactly opposite John and Janet but now in Framena Street, Polis, Cyprus.
Not only that but they quickly discovered that another couple, living in Framena Street, previously lived in Bishops Wood, in the UK, just 5 minutes from their old Wheaton Aston home. They couldn’t believe they’d gone all that way only to be re-united with old friends, all now living in the same hot and sunny climate.
Burke Bros did all of John & Kate’s packing, shipping and storage and John said: “Chris Starkey and his team at Burke Bros did an excellent job for us!”
Burke Bros’s removals agent in Cyprus said: “It was such a pleasure to see all these old friends move all this way to Cyprus and end up back together again living in the same cul-de-sac.”
John and Kate were also asked about their move to Cyprus, along with their main reasons for moving.
John said, “Originally we intended to move to the Greek Islands, but we found the hospital facilities weren’t as good as we saw in Cyprus. So, we decided to move to Polis, a rural part of Cyprus, not far from the coast.”
Kate said “The cost of living is so much lower here so our pension goes much, much further. The hospitals are better than in the UK, although you do need private medial insurance. Law and order is very good too and we always feel very safe and comfortable here.”
John said, “Everyone speaks good English and they even drive on the same side of the road as we do in the UK, and use the same electricity standards. The other great benefit is that on the 1st January 2008 Cyprus goes in to the EU so we’ll have the Euro and be better protected by European laws.”
Kate said, “The only thing I miss from the UK is retails shopping” with John commenting, “I miss a pint of real ale and the traditional English pub.”
John said, “Burke Bros also moved two of our other new friends Noel & Linda Lynch who moved here from Perton near Wolverhampton, and they too were really happy with Burke Bros’s 1st class service.”
