It has been formally announced that Maersk transport and Logistics’ acquisition of Hamburg Sud is now approved by the competition authorities in all relevant jurisdictions globally.
Maersk have stated; “We are happy and excited to Welcome Hamburg Sud to the Maersk Line family. We see Hamburg Sud as a well-run company with highly valuable employees who offer their customers a service that is unique in the market.”
The two companies plan to continue dealing separately with their respective global container shipping customers to ensure continuity of service.
