Moving House and the Big Clean

Mar 05. 2019

It’s an inevitable part of moving house, no matter whether you’re moving into a new house, vacating a rented property or moving your household effects into storage for a period of time- there’s always cleaning involved in the process somewhere along the way!

There’s always a few cleaning hotspots that need particular attention during a move:

Kitchens
Even in the cleanest of homes, it’s remarkable how much dirt and dust can accrue behind white goods in a kitchen. If you can arrange to clean these areas prior to moving day- do so as this will take some time on moving day.

Living Rooms
A hot spot for dust and dirt in a living room is often behind TV sets and media units. Equally, carpets can retain dirt over a period of time, which often isn’t alleviated just by hovering alone. If you have time- it’s worth cleaning carpets with a steam cleaner. Blinds, particularly, can also become very dusty and are best targeted with a damp cloth.

Bathrooms
Scrub all of the surfaces and fixtures of the bathroom well as there can be a notable build-up of bacteria in a bathroom particularly in areas around showers and baths.

If you don’t relish the idea of completing the cleaning duties yourself before moving day, we can help you out by recommending a cleaning service by professional cleaning staff. The cleaning operatives will arrive on site with their own equipment, so that there is no disruption to your packing.

These services can also be useful even before the moving date, as preparation for your house to go on the property market, or if the property you’re moving into is in need of a deep clean our domestic cleaning services will make the house seem more like your own.
