The American Dream; Where to Live in the USA

Sep 20. 2019

The eternal allure of the ‘American Dream’ has never failed to draw British expats to its shores. In fact, there are now approximately 678,000 British people who have made America their home. Many more have purchased second ‘holiday home’ properties there.

The lack of a language barrier and the transparent and easy to understand rigours of the property market provide British expats with the ideal conditions in which to buy property. Whilst the profound diversity of the country also means that there is literally something for everyone!

Famed for its year round sunshine, Florida possesses some well-known attractions from the Disneyland theme park to excellent golf resorts. Property prices are creeping upwards throughout the state, making it an increasingly popular place for investment.
Equally, the city that never sleeps, New York, possesses a number of investment opportunities for foreign buyers. Many moving to NYC tend to do so as part of a work relocation. For those with an ample budget there is always the highly salubrious area of The Hamptons, on Long Island.

Notably, the central states of the USA haven’t seen as many British buyers snapping up property. States like Kansas are a blanket of plains and prairie lands and have a heritage from the first inhabitants from the Santa Fe Trail in the early nineteenth century. Meanwhile, New England offers a beautiful backdrop in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island with the iconic white picket fences and distinct seasons.

Our international moving services cover all states of the USA and we have decades of experience in shipping, export packing and bespoke crating, quarantine, customs and transporting vehicles.
